Episode 1: I Really Lasered My Vagina

As you saw on tonight's premiere episode, I took Nicole Murphy with me to Beauty Park Spa to get my vagina lasered. It's called vaginal rejuvenation, and it's the greatest thing since sliced whole wheat bread.  To read more about the educational side of my procedure click here. For those of you who want to hear the personal details about my procedure, keep on reading.

I was a bit nervous before my first treatment. However, I don't recommend any procedures or treatments to my clients that I haven't tried first. I have had three treatments thus far, and the one that you saw on the show was my second treatment. I can't even begin to tell you how amazing the results are! Everything is nice and tidy down there. Nurse Jamie is so wonderful, and her patients feel comfortable when in her office. She made me feel comfortable and was very thorough at explaining the procedure to me.

There are no preparations that you must do before the procedure, and there is little maintenance afterward. The procedure itself did not hurt at all; it just felt a bit warm down there. There is no numbing needed and a little pain afterwards. Okay, I won't lie to you; it felt like someone set fire to my va-jay-jay for like six hours. After that, there was no pain. Nurse Jamie did mention no action down there for about a week and no sun for a few days. A fiery vagina is definitely worth a young looking one.

Free Falling: Skydiving Video

Last year, my girlfriend Athena and I went skydiving in Palm Springs. So much fun. I would do it again in a heart beat. Watch my skydiving video here on my blog or on youtube. I was so nervous but I would do it again. The best part was falling. Cheers to new beginnings!

Who wants to go skydiving with me?

Vagina Lasering

I know today there are a lot of laser treatment options out there for rejuvenating skin, and, indeed, I have tried many on my face and neck. However, the newest trend rejuvenates an aging perineum, helps vanish episiotomy scars from child birthing and also tightens the sagging labia majora and labia minor. Overall, the procedure seeks to provide a youthful and aesthetically more appealing vagina. I was intrigued to say the least. In my Image consulting business, I have encountered a reoccurring universal issue many woman are facing… they don't like the appearance of their vagina.  While it's a topic some are too embarrassed to confess, many women often lack sexual confidence due to their appearance down below.  One such client professed that she no longer would have sex with her husband in fear he might not like what he saw after several births and turning 40. Not only did her self-esteem grow increasingly low, but she never knew there was anything she could do about it. So I decided to do some research. Since lasers have worked amazingly well on my face and neck, I decided to give vaginal laser rejuvenation a try.

Most women do not want the small inner lips to project beyond the large outer lips. The Pixel laser technology not only tightens skin on the neck, face and eyelids, it also works on overall skin quality of the vagina by manipulating the less-than-tight collagen fibers in the skin. Often childbirth will cause a change in the elasticity of the skin. While transitioning new cells, it also indicates improvement in tone and texture of the skin, while also reducing and improving discoloration due to age, hyperpigmentation, and unsightly ingrown hair scars.

This technology is known as ablative fractional technology. Skin resurfacing occurs as the laser passes over the affected skin to remove damaged outer layers and, through heat, stimulates the production of collagen and new skin cells in the underlying layers. The Pixel technology allows for a smoother, tighter, and more improved skin texture and tone after just 1-2 sessions. The technology has demonstrated a triggering of biological responses that may lead to collagen remodeling, which is responsible for the smoothing of wrinkles, improvement of laxity and discoloration. Usually completed in little under 30 minutes, the results have been equal to those of traditional laser resurfacing techniques. The procedure itself is performed with minimal downtime and discomfort, treatment protocol calls for a series of 5 treatments, 2-4 weeks apart. Cost varies but can range from $300-500 per treatment.

I must say, I saw a definite improvement in skin tone and tightening after just 1 treatment. After 2 treatments my ingrown hair scars were starting to vanish.  After my third treatment, there was an even better improvement; everything was definitely firmer and there was an even tone throughout my skin. I was thrilled to see these results knowing there is hope for woman out there, and I surely am not afraid to share my experience. I hope my experience helps women with their problems “down there.” Needless to say, my client cannot thank me enough as she is now enjoying her husband again. Growing old gracefully? Hmmmmmmm…… why do we have to these days? A little laser here and there never hurt anyone and can do wonders for your vagina.

The Best Sun Protection Out There Today

Just because it’s the beginning of summer doesn’t mean that you should start wearing your sunscreen (sunblock, sun protection). You should be wearing it throughout the entire year! Sunscreen should be a part of your daily makeup regime because it blocks the Ultraviolet A (UVA) and Ultraviolet B (UVB) rays from your skin and prevents sunburns and sun damage. Ultraviolet A rays and Ultraviolet B rays can cause long lasting skin damage, skin cancer, skin aging and sunburns. Sunscreen is designed to protect your skin, so why don’t we remember to use it daily? One online source says that only one out of five people use sunscreen daily!

After researching and hunting for the best sunscreen, there really was only one that outshined all the rest. Neutrogena, Aveeno and a generic brand had no match for Cell Ceuticals Photo Defense SPF 55+. Cell Ceuticals Photo Defense Sun Protection was created by the world-renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Garth Fisher. Photo Defense lasted five times longer than the other brands, is an excellent moisturizer, has antioxidants, and gave my skin a luminous glow. While Cell Ceuticals Photo Defense might cost more than you would normally spend on a sunscreen, realize that this is your skin (the largest living organ in your body) and it may take a higher quality product to give you the best protection.

When you remember to use sunscreen, are you sure you are covering all the right places? The most common missed places are: the tops of your feet, the back of your hands, your ears, neck, chest, scalp, and your lips. Pucker up and make sure you grab a chap stick with SPF in it!

Here are the most common sunscreen mistakes (taken from about.com)
1) Applying sunscreen AFTER going outdoors.
2) Not applying enough sunscreen.
3) Not reapplying after swimming or sweating.
4) Not reapplying sunscreen at all.
5) Using sunscreen only when it is sunny.
